In the US they are training dogs to work with people who have psychiatric problems, like post traumatic stress symdrome and the like. The dogs make sure the human takes his medication, guards him from stressful situations, and gives them a cuddle when the human is already stressed out.

Did you know that American vets think 9 out of 10 dogs are fat? Especially older dogs.
And that this puts a strain on the heart, and from there the rest of the body, which shortens the dog’s life?
Maybe we should all think about it, and do more exercise, which can only be good for us [...]
